collecting angpaos at some weird distant relative's house and muching on heaty, heaty chinese new year goodies, only and only because

MY SISTER HAS CHICKENPOX.

honestly, what a time to fall ill. because of that we were BANNED from my grandma's house and the reunion dinner which happens to be the highlight of the whole chinese new year THING apart from all the angpaos.

and oh, all that income down the drain. die, chickenpox, DIE!

that aside, just follow law is a pretty good show packed with lots of humour (though crude at times but funny nonetheless) with lots of satire at the government. you are highly advised to watch it.
<br closer. but sec4 has proven to be rather bearable and remotely enjoyable so far, hopefully i won't jinx it right after i type this out.

sec4 is this huge turning point, i guess. it's really the time of your life where you grapple between identities of maturity and childlike innocence. when you don't know what to think, what to do and which way to go. it's the transformation this year that really determines what's going to happen in the future. so many decisions to make, things to do, wrongs to right.

i hope this year will be a year of hope, new beginnnings and self-reflection. i realise i'm really living in a sheltered environment, where things are still at an acceptable stage, where things don't turn sour and stay sour -- yet.
i'm going to take my time to grow up, though inevitable, i don't think i'm ready to face the world, just yet.

just yet.

here i am for a quick revival of this semi-abandoned blog which i'm sure no one reads anyway, but on acocunt that zeslene tagged, i will entertain the random blog-hoppers that may happen to chance upon my blog.

well life's been pretty much The Same these days, school homework and the like. i must say, sec4 really spells alot more freedom, and i must say, i am liking it now :)

contrary to belief, sitting in the front of the class is, pretty enjoyable actually, save for the fact that teachers can easily see whether you've done your homework (or rather, NOT done your homework) but know me.. that seldom happens :D
and i'm not being sarcastic, i have carefully tread on the path to muggerville.
charm will gladly attest to my hardworking ways :D

today's filming was pretty swell, we managed to finish up the nerd's scene in the boy's bathroom with no major glitches or hiccups and zeslene so completed our adventures in the boy's toilet by flushing the urinal. how very quaint.

and RGS is really small compared to the other 2 raffles school actually, but i think the atmosphere in school is quite comfortable. i guess that apart from constantly dodging the lawenforcers , rg IS pretty cosy, probably due to the size, or the lack of it. can't say i won't miss rg when we're good and gone, RJ is such a very cold place. for now, i am not looking forward to it.

sec 4 ftw! :)
SATURDAY

woke up early in the morning to go to school for practice. wasn't particularly exciting, but it was certainly fun with weiting the siaozarboh around.
after that, had lunch and watched flora do her OM stuff for more than 3 hours, but OM seems really cool, and it looked fun to do!

anyways, i decided to stop being such a passive member of avpa and start doing duty, so i helped out at orientation. hoho, i'm such a screw up the mikes kept having feedback cause the secones were screaming into the mikes and it was 205620476027651626 decibels loud. just like me when i was sec one. loud.

oh wait, i still am.

okay never mind. it was fun though, with flora. really brought back nostalgia and I-MISS-209 tendencies, but come to think of it, i hardly remember anything about orientation. okay, some parts, but hell it was 3years ago, and people DO get old..

but i miss 209 anyways, ORA come quick! :D

but anyhow, yesterday we had this annual discipline talk, and i believe that the whole school found it amusing.

"folding your socks in a manner that reveals the Archille's tendon to distract attention from chunky calves"

i am in no position to say anything about that, but all i question is the rationale of having high socks. granted, we ARE a "learning institution" and have to uphold the standard and regulations of the school, but honestly, having high socks does not equate to professionalim and wearing lower socks that do not cover the seemingly hideous ankle bone would deem you a person of lower civic status.

i fail to understand why the school is so anal about the colour of the underwear we wear. i mean, so if we wear pink bras we're not professional anymore? i really don't get it, and probably never will, because your bra can hardly be seen through your pinafore, unless of course, someone was intent on knowing the colour of the lingerie you wear.

similarly, the handphone rule makes little sense to me. yup, the whole rational of the handphone rule is to provide a conducive environment for us to study in without loud, blaring ringtones interrupting a very interesting lesson.
but even after school, the locations we are allowed to use our handphones are restricted to the cafeteria and the foyer, which is clearly demarcated by different coloured tiles and oh if you happen to be one step off the tiles, then woe betide you and God save Nathan already.

i recently found out that it was illegal to use the ipod in school, simply because the school is a learning institution and not for entertainment purposes, ergo we are not allowed to derive the simple pleasures of life from music, even if you are just dying of boredom. the rationale given was that the school did not want us to show off our possession of high-tech gadgets to the less fortunate students in the school. but what if i was one step outside school and using the ipod, wouldn't that make the whole rationale void and totally defeat the purpose of the rule? so what can they do, ban the use of mp3 players in presence of those who do not own one, or ban the whole area outside school? (i am not giving them ideas, i am merely making a point). i am not saying the rule shouldn't be there, i am just saying that i, personally, me myself i do not see the point of it and others should not be influenced by my point of view.

please note that simply because i do not agree with the school rules does not make me defiant or unable to adhere to to the school rules. and i'll have you know that i do not intend to get booked for the rest of the year (because i have changed my ways!). so disagreeing with the rationale and existance of some rules does not mean that i will fail to comply.

please feel free to disagree with me.

helllo anyyybody. sorry for letting my blog stagnate, but there's seriously nothing much to blog about anyway. and the stuff that i think are interesting probably wouldn't sit right with most of you :D

403 has finally watched the whale mating video! ANIMAL PORN, but hey its very interesting you know. the whales have seriously large genitals. okay well let's just say that the blue whale's penis is longer than... me. okay yes its 2 metres long okay.there i said it, we learn something new every day.

school is about to switch into full swing mode, and i am ready for it, for once. so come what may, math test physics test, bring it on! if you can tell, i'm trying to sound positive so that i won't panic.

anyhow, film cluster is going okay, i guess but the last few scenes have to be shot some time soon, like reeeeally soon. but michael chee's part is the funniest of all seriously. when the film is done i'll upload it so all can enjoy :D maybe.

todya after school, i took 105 to toapayoh with chelsia because it was raining and i didn't want to cross the road in the rain (yes, call me idiotic). so upon reaching toapayoh, we saw this fruit stall so we bought a packet of JACKFRUIT and we bought it! then we looked all over for a place to sit down and enjoy the fruit, but we coudln't find anywhere! so we decided to watch tv while eating, but then there were alot of dirty, unidentified particles on the fruit, so we searched all over for a washroom to wash it. honestly, that was the most spastic thing i've done in a long time. the looks on the passers-by's faces? that was priceless.
then we sat down in the middle of the stairwell at toapayoh to eat.
knowing us, we'd surely screw up, (okay maybe just me), and i squeezed the jackfruit and the seed flew out onto the floor. thankfully it didn't hit anyone. imagine what a mess i'll have to clean up.

i've been a good good girl recently. taking notes in class and trying my best to keep awake even in the most uninteresting of classes. hopefully that will make a difference in my languishing grades.

and for now, commonwelth essay type='text'>2007!

HOLA I AM BACK, after an extremely long, and painful hiatus from blogging, which may i add, ended with a less than stellar end. but NO MATTER for i am blogging again!

i'm not one to dwell much on the past, so let 2006 pass me by and leave them as memories. all the screwups, trouble and shitcrapZXSX i got into, now trust me i'll have alot more fun laughing about it in the future than you will about your life.

2007 is finally here (not that i was anticipating or anything)!
again we set our resolutions and goals and aim for a better year ahead, but somehow that doesn't seem to work too well for me, therefore, this year i will not list down my resolutions in case i fall short of them. which is likely to happen anyways.

let's say the year didnt start in a particularly special way, much to my disappointment. with yours truly stay up to watch disney channel into the wee hours with my 2 pestilential sisters who "bop to the top" of the couch each time high school musical blares on the television. it is not too late to show me some sympathy.

that aside, this year doesnt feel much different from the previous, not yet perhaps, seeing school ONLY starts in TWO days (read: ONLY, i am optimistic). the corridor still reeks of dogs on account that my very annoying neighbour rears a canine species and sees no importance in HYGIENE and chooses to lower water consumption by NOT BATHING THE DOG.
i now walk the corridor with bated breath. bated pooch breath. pun absolutely intended.

however, the new year bring new prospects and new hopes. despite losing its novelty of being a BRAND NEW START, it does have some pscyhological effect on me.

so, cheers to a new year, <s>and a much stricter prefectorial board.</s>

embrace it, type='text'>sec 4 farewell 2006!

OVERDUE POST ABOUT SEC4 FAREWELL
it's been a long time since i blogged, but i do feel the need to blog about this lest i forget all about it.

sec4 farewell was a blast, and i do hope all the rgsquash seniors had a good time and liked what we planned for them.

sec4 farewell was held in this dingy bungalow which was, admittingly, big, but it looked and smelt like an old folks' home. the first thig i did was to take eileen's deodorant and conveniently rid the place of the odour clinging in the air.

after exploring the place and the beach (which was really smelly as well), we had to get ready for the arrival of the seniors and get the barbecue ready.

the lighter that we borrowed from the neighbouring bungalow was dysfunctional, so we had to IMPROVISE (thinker, leader, pioneer, remember?) and light the pit with fire from the stove. after many botched attempts, we finally managed to get the fire started. after fanning furiously at a pile of charcoal, the fire was finally decent and was good to go. a pity that took a long time and everyone was hungry.

we had loads and loads and loads of food, which tasted really really good, and everyone was fighting to be near the fire either to prove themselves useful (think: yujia) or to melt their marshmallows.

after the dinner, which took a long time, because squashers are big eaters (: the different batches presented their performances to the sec4s. the adorable sec1s did this tribal-like thing and danced around the sec4s. the sec1s are really cute lah, and random, haha :D

the sec2s had this gameshow which they took off zhou ri ba dian dang. between carol and joanne, one of them had to stand on ice and the other one had to pretend that she was, and the seniors would have to guess who really was standing on the ice. most, or was it all, of the sec4s got it wrong and had to stick their hand into this mystery box with weird items inside. candice screamed really really loudly when she touched hers, and it ended up as seaweed (or i think, at least)

us sec3s presented a medley of songs with altered lyrics to the seniors, accompanied with extremely spastic actions, which really took the cake. the seniors were touched okay! don't think i don't know, i bet they were trying hard not to cry! :D

after that, we presented our presents to the sec 4s, and ours was fantabulous, i have to say!

take a look at THAT! :D us sec 3s spent the whole of the previous day making those pretty shirts! :D

here's candice passing on the secretary's book to me! :D

(alright ok i look like shit)

i'll really miss the seniors! rarrrr!

the seniors too, gave the juniors their presents. and guess what i got.

YEO'S CHYSANTHEMUM TEA.
209 outing! <333

and this is why i love 209'05 so, so much.and nothing can ever ever change that.

yesterday was 209 barbecue, and it only served as a reminder of how great our class was. despite the fact that not the entire class was there, it was fun, and the 209 spirit was really felt.
that is something i know and accept that 303 cannot ever achieve but whatever, just one more year and i'll be reunited with 209 in RJ. well, it's your business if you chose to read this but this is MY blog.
anyway, i will not dwell on unhappy things, because they are just not worth my precious time.
209'05 barbecue!
i am sorry to say that there would be no pictures because andrea the great photographer was not there.

anyway, here it goes. eileen and i were late, so we met the rest at clementi ntuc to buy the food, but they were already done with the shopping, so we went to xiaodi's house together <3

the function room was rather spacious, and we had fun doing spastic stuff inside like banging on the wall and disturbing the neighbouring residents whom appeared to be studying but were blasting music so loud that even I would disapprove of :D

so weiting eileen and rachel were massaging the chicken and marinating it with teriyaki sauce! and we since realised that every barbecue needs sanqian to supervise, see that's how our class has CHEMISTRY asshum asshum (: and rachel, flora and i were breaking the sweet potatoes and corn with our bare hands untill the knife arrived then we were chopping them into random pieces.

after that we painstakingly skewered the satay ONE by ONE, and they turned out to be really really nice too! and after we weren done with one batch and we were good and proud of ourselves, we found another packet of satay in the bag, so we did that ALLLLL over again. but it was fun. the feeling of raw meat on your hands is.... CUTE :D

following which, we chopped up the sausages and marinated them (we were bored. and we had too much sauce) and we put them on the satay sticks so artistically (thanks to my inate artistic ability) and they looked so tantalizing i just HAD to eat one.. without heating it up. and man, was it good! (Y).

when there was finally nothing to do, maria nikhita dharsh, weiting, rachphoa, flora played bluff. and when i took over weiting, her number of cards multiplied quickly, because i am just so honest and do not like to lie. honesty is the best policy, haven't you heard? fine, it's just an excuse because i suck at bluff anyway, it's so much easier on neopets! xP

okay, anyway, after that rach and i, The Firelighters, started the fire by building little fences with charcoal and lighting them up then fanning furiously at it, just like the previous 209 chalet except the last time, we had an electric fan named TOYOMI to help us :D
after a while, the fire was finally warm enough to cook food. so we piled all the food to cook. so eileen rach and i were the cooks of the day and we cooked alot of food (albeit some not fully cooked) and it tasted GOOD okay. (Y)

while we were sweating it out at the pit,the other niners were laughing like crazy in the function room (okay, maybe it was just wanxin laughing at weiting) but 209 is LOUD AND COOL LIKE THAT <3

and in the end we finished all the chicken wings and satay and sausages! the niners are big eaters, man! and we went to play pool in the smelly room and i didnt see the door to the stupid enclosure. but once i stepped in the room this incapitulating stench filled my nose and i ran over in horror. untill i got myself mentally prepared, then i entered the room. but the ah bengs that went in before us must have been really, REALLY smelly.

after everything and some niners, left, the rest of us went to the swimming pool and swam in our clothes! much to the discontent of other residents, but who cares that's what our youth is for, to screw up and do spastic things. then we were piggybacking each other and doing water ballet in the pool. seems liek such a long time since i had tht much fun! :D

209 will never be replaced in my heart man! :D

and after our swim, we went to the toilet, changed, and sat in the sauna to dry off, then we walke out to the MRT together. yenlin, nike, weiting, nellie, eileen, dharsh and i, though nellie was half blind because her contact fell out of her eye =\

then we had a group hug at the MRT station and everyone was staring at us, but :D we are COOL LIKE THAT. afte rhtat we all went home to have a well-deserved rest (:

later at night yityng smsed me: hey huiwen thanks so much for coming! love you! :D
then i really felt that no matter what happens, i still have great friends backing me up. so flame me all you want, :D

and 209, sincerely, i love you guys so so so much! even though not all of you turned up, i love you all the same <3

MILO TRIP! <3

HELLO HELLO ALL MY ADORING BLOG READERS! (: I have come to cure you of withdrawal symptoms of not reading my satirical humour for days, though suffering from withdrawal symptoms myself. I am, indeed, noble, am I not? (:

Oh yes, by the way, if you’re wondering why I’m typing in such properly capitalized language, that is because I am using MS word, in fear that a stupid computer screw up might rob me of my long blog post. (:

That aside, I AM SUFFERING FROM POST-MILO DEPRESSION! As is all of the other participants, anyway. I shall attempt to give you a blow-by-blow recount of the whole trip, as far as my limited memory span would take me. And yes, it is going to be a long blog post. Do, grab something to eat in the meantime won’t you.

DAY ONE
day one was a complete waste of time, actually. But it was the start of many uh, bee-you-ti-ful friendships, no?
the entire day was spent on 2 buses. One of which smelt really bad and we were glad to trade at Malaysia customs for a more comfortable one with no odour and a television! (: Basically the whole day we were holding our bladders and then stopping at a really dirty toilet where we’d either continue to hold our bladder or proceed to wash the toilet before using it. Yes, one must master the art of hover pissing when in Malaysia. Unless you’re a Malaysian of course, then you probably don’t need to, either that or you’re used to it already.
One thing I hate about Malaysia is the HEAT and the FLIES. Zomg you can just die of either of them when exposed to each for 10 minutes. But apart from that, the food is rather good, though not as hygienic as in Singapore. But clean food’s not that tasty anyway. I DON’T want to think why. Ignorance can be bliss sometimes. Anyway, Da Vinci Code was playing in the bus, but it was too soft I couldn’t really hear. And besides, I kind of forgot the story line so sound was really important. Geez. I am GOING TO sneak in man. ONE DAY. Anyway, the bus ride was jus really typical la. Shared a plate of rice with 2 fish and half a salted egg with Candice if I’m not wrong. Yes. I think that was how it was. The whole day was spent either eating or curling up in the bus seat listening to music. A blatant waste of time, I say.

After a long and arduous journey, we finally reached the hotel armada. The rooms were of a respectable size and the toilet was NICE (: basically, I was happy with everything about the room, except my ROOM-mate. No prizes for guessing why. You’ll get that in major detail later on anyway.

Went for the opening ceremony for the milo competition. It was a COMPLETE and ABSOLUTE waste of time. Basically we sat around for more than an hour just sloshing down many cups of diluted orange juice and playing stupid stupid games like hamburger and kfc. Hahaha. Such memories. I’ll never forget it man.
Anyway, after we got really fed up with sitting around for such a long while, we not-so-discreetly went off to eat dinner. Walked a really long while to some ulu mall where we ate at macdonalds. That was super climax lah.
Oh yes, I remember spending a really long time explaining to the macs person that I wanted a small porridge. The 3.20RM one.

Zomg. I am really damn random.

While walking back to the hotel I suddenly remembered that the sec 2s were alone! I am SUCH a caring senior right? And luckily I remembered lah, they were kind of… lost? Haha yeah. That was bad. Should never do that again.

Had the meeting and went back to bathe. Then when I was trying to sleep, my ROOMmate was making a lot of noise. NO PROZES FOR GUESSING what kind of noise. The kind that you make in your sleep. You know..

So I went over the linked room, which happened to be Jerryca’s, and luckily for me, Nicole went to study in another room, so I had the bed (:

DAY TWO
Woke up super SUPER early for breakfast. Couldn’t really see properly cause I didn’t put my contacts in and I stupidly forgot to bring my spectacles. What a screw-up.
The hotel food was not bad, I must say. Sat there eating for a long time before going up to bathe and prepare for my match, which I forgot what time it was.
Anyway, that day was the day of the first match. And I was super LUCKY to meet a seeded Japanese player la. GGXX. Got thrashed like crazy. Only managed to get 3 points off her and a lot of handouts. But never mind. She’s seeded. So whatever. And she’ SO CUTE OKAY! She asked me to take a picture with her! I know I totally look gross in the picture la but its COOL! (:
Cool right. International friendships. PWNZ J00 la. Yes you, talking to your teddy bear.

Can’t really remember what I spent doing the rest of the day. Hmm. I think I spent it in Jerryca’s room playing cards or something. That’s my short-term memory for you man.

If I’m not wrong, that was one of the 3 days I slept in my own room amidst the noise.

DAY THREE
Woke up at an extremely ungodly hour. Had the same breakfast and then went to Astaka courts for my game. Yes. The stupid girl that I was supposed to play very smartly ‘lost to me in the mental battle’ (as James hill might say) which in other words gave me a bloody walkover and made me wake up for nothing. Zomg. WHAT an idiot. But in any case, that meant I walked straight to the next round (:
AND the next round was that very same day, at 5 pm. Of course, went back to the hotel. Crapped around for a while, i think I ate honey stars or something but I can’t really remember so too bad if you’re really kaypoh about my boring life.
Yes, as I was saying. I returned to the courts once more that day. Worrying like crazy that I wouldn’t be able to win my opponent. Yes, given my talent in squash, which is pretty much non-existent, I sure have reason to worry.
As I said, my match was at 5. But at 6, my opponent was still nowhere to be seen, and the STUPID SCREWED UP MANAGEMENT didn’t do anything and they thought my match was over. NUMBSKULLS!

Only at 6.15 did they finally tell me that I have a walkover. Which is really dumb cause I could have gotten the walkover a whole hour earlier. Geez, really, the world will never run out of stupid people!

Waited for the rest of the people to be ready, then we went to Mid Valley I think. The initial plan was to watch a movie, but we spent so long in the freezing cold waiting for a bludy cab that we lost all our enthusiasm. Besides, not everyone was there. So we just went to eat and shop at mid valley.

The pet shop was cool man. But I still don’t understand who’d want a huge iguana as a pet. I’ll probably scare myself half to death if that creature was in my house. If you MUST know, I screamed when I rapped the glass and the reptile moved. And it’s HUGEEE.

Ate a humble dinner at the food court. One piece of advice for you. When in Malaysia, do NOT watch people when they’re preparing your food. Chances are, you’ll see something you shouldn’t and that’ll totally screw your appetite up. I know, cause I tried. So take it from me man.
Another piece of advice for you. Don’t offer others your food unless
1) You really really mean it
2) You’re sure the person will reject
3) You wont spend days whining about how that person stole your jelly.

HINT, MARK.

Yup went back to the hotel again. Played cards I think, in some room that I happen to have forgotten thanks to my selective memory.

OHOH RULES FOR PLAYING DAIDEE
1) patience is the way to win (jerryca)
2) DON’T HOLD BACK! (mark)
3) Don’t throw all your DEEs down at the same time
4) Don’t end with a small card
5) If you can’t win, aim not to be last (jerryca)
6) If you know you can’t win, disrupt the play (daryl)
7) Play to circumstance

Follow those rules, confirm win one. (:

And no, I don’t remember if I slept in my own room. Whoops! But you can’t really blame me, can you!

DAY FOUR
That day I made the stupidest mistake I ever did in my whole life. I stupidly read the wrong column for my match time and I thought it was at 5 pm.
And what time was it actually? 10.50
What time did I wake up? 10.30
GGXX. Susan called me and I nearly died of a heart attack man! I rushed like crap and reached Astaka 5 min before my stipulated match time. But the thing was, I wasn’t even awake. Yeah, so expectedly, I lost larh. But never mind I guess? We should uh, learn from our mistakes, shouldn’t we? (:
Anyway, I wouldn’t have won. The girl could do a split while playing squash. Am I supposed to be able to beat that?

Went back to the hotel to bathe and crap around after that. If I’m not wrong, we went to mid valley to watch x men 3! (: NICE MOVIE everyone should go watch it. But got a lot of gross gross kissing scenes and jean grey looks like EMILY ROSE wtf scary!

And we sat down dunno how long in the cinema after the show to watch the part after the credits. They said it was around ten minutes. THAT WAS A MYTH. It lasted 2 seconds, bloody hell! I suppose there’d were an x men 4 coming out. Haha. Hopefully the UCSC people have an outing or something, that’d be quite cool!

Went shopping after that. Was actually hoping to get a pair of decent shoes cause my once-trusty sandals happened to have failed me in a most untimely situation. DARN! I had to drag my feet wherever I went after that. So UNGLAM!

Spent the whole night playing daidee again. At least, that’s what I think happened. Hahaha. Sheesh, I’ve really bad memory!

DAY FIVE
got woken up by housekeeping, both unfortunately and fortunately. Otherwise I’d have been super super late!
All of us went to some dingy club to play squash among ourselves. The court was like crap and the only cool thing about it was that it could be moved to form a doubles court. JUST BUILD ONE ALREADY -.-
But the courts there really sucked la. I was doing my backhand shots. And given my innate talent which is yes, nonexistent, I hit the ball out and it got STUCK. THERE. UP THERE.
So Samuel suggested that I throw my shoe up there to get it down. Okay, so I did. And guess what?
MY SHOE GOT STUCK UP THERE AND THE BALL CAME DOWN! So I had to throw my other shoe up to get it down. Thankfully, it didn’t get stuck up there. But I reiterate my point. The courts suck.

That was a really boring day. We started playing daidee cause it was absolutely BORING.

Got really pist off with ROOMmate. She purposely did things to spite me hokay! How MEAN is that?!! Hoho, look who’s talking man :P

Apart from that, we went to the all 4 sides glass courts. Which was really cool, but a little bit inconvenient, cause you absolutely cannot hit the ball out, or you’d have to go search for the stupid ball.

The ITSSOCOOLING boy pissed me off and I couldn’t take it. But after that the whole day I was laughing at the ridiculous things he did. Haha. Okay that was random.

Again, spent the whole night playing daidee and polar bear. Whoa those 2 games are like OWNAGE la seriously. It’s just super fun to sabo people! And it think the UCSC people are really really funky. I mean, we can go without sleep for a really long time albeit getting screwed in the morning. But its cool anyway. We went out in the middle of the night to get a ramly burger and buy groceries. I swear that ramly burger is the tastiest thing you’d ever put in your mouth and everyone should go try it. Again, don’t look at what the guy does to your burger.

Shawn and I decided to be boliao and go to every single level of the hotel to walk around. Took us over an hour to complete the whole hotel. We realized that the painting are super repeated larh. They just put the painting there fore fun only. And the paintings weren’t even nice. All about ships and water one. No creativity! Then we went to Shawn’s room and put a blanket over Samuel to jack him. HAHAH (: should have seen his face in the morning man. Then Shawn came over to hear the noises that ROOMMIE made. Oops? =
All of us ended up squeezing into Mark’s room anyway. It was amazing how so many guys and girls can fit into one small room and still be reasonably comfortable.

DAY SIX
Went to some other dingy club to play friendlies with people. I played damn terribly la. Actually I couldn’t really be bothered. Darn, my match attitude is terrible, I should reflect!

Went to sit on a swing after that. Just realized it’s been quite a while since I last sat on a swing! Had a horrid lunch that I stupidly paid RM21 for! So jacked la. Should have eaten more ice cream or something.

After that went back to the hotel to bathe. Gave the finals a miss. After all, no one I knew was playing. So there was no point. We went out to Sunway Pyramid after that. It’s been a really really long time since I last skated so the experience was cool. It’s like I knew how to skate, but I didn’t know how to skate. Okay that didn’t make sense at all. Jerryca, Gabriel and Mabel learnt to skate that day and they were quite okay at it. Mabel Li was CHICKEN and sat it out! Haha! Fell down once, not because I was clumsy, but someone PUSHED me down and I was so pissed with the guy. Then I got so paranoid I screamed when anyone came too near. And another thing. ROOMIE WAS PRO. Like zomg. Surprise surprise!

After that, we went for dinner! Ate at Manhattan’s Fish Market! Couldn’t finish my food but had a super nice drink and I realize I’m giving unnecessary details and this is a very long sentence.

Went back to the hotel for the meeting. After the meeting, we went back to our own rooms and arranged to meet. Only that, there was one problem. ROOMIE was stationed at the 20th floor lift lobby in case we went to Mark’s room, and in case Mark came down. So she’d know where we were and she’d follow! SO SCHEMING RIGHT! But you can’t deny that’s quite a good strategy.

Went through a really long process before we ended up at….. Samuel’s room, then Susan’s room. Spent quite a while laughing at Jerryca’s screw up. (hoho rare, no?) before we started playing daidee again. And we found that ROOMIE went to play daidee with Shaun, Timothy and those people lah. Haha. Oh well, at least she fit right in (:

Watched white chicks, which Candice slept right through. Totally love that show man. And the uscs people are just so darn funny it just adds on to the fun

Ordered room service, which took a really really long time to come. But the food was good and we didn’t even drink much of the water anyway. Oops? (:

DAY SEVEN
Fell asleep only at around 6.30 and woke up at 10. amazing how I managed to stay awake for most of the day until we were reaching Singapore, then I pengsaned in the bus. Haha.
Checked out at 12.30 and took the bus to the adidas warehouse, bought 2 shirts and a nike jacket! (: and an ipod holder which was NICE! And CHEAP, not to mention (:

Played daidee on the bus all the way back until we were sian then we just started talking and some of us started sleeping. It was kind of sad to have the realization sink in that the trip was OVER ):

Yup reached Newton at 9 something, then we just went off la ):

QUOTABLE QUOTES!
“你给我一大跳!”
“I SCREWED UP!” *muffled scream*
“SPASTIC NUMBER ONE!”
“I’m going to listen to what he says and repeat it over and over again”
“JaMAica’s going to WEIN!”
“Eh I realized something! All the girls are from Raffles and all the guys are from ACS!” “EHH!”

and a last piece of advice: If you want to save your phone bill, DON’T get acquainted with the pizza guy (:

last words! THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO MADE MY TRIP AN UNFORGETTABLE ONE! SUSAN CANDICE MABEL ZESLENE JERRYCA NICOLE SHAWN DARYL MARK GABRIEL SAMUEL ALEX NOT FORGETTING J&TSOH!

and of course, who can forget ROOMIE who, in contrast with the rest, made them seem so perfect. i shall proceed to give you a taste of her medicine (:
firstly, mark wants to testify that she is actually a MUTANT! CLASS 5! and her power, watch this, is to LOCATE THE MOUTH OF TRUTH, A TRUE TOURIST ATTRACTION. Mark, having had first hand experience has given http://psychedelia-.blogspot.com the full account

"eh Mark remember that mouth of truth thing u were talking about yesterday? today i found it leh! its near this shop with glass walls and manakins inside.. there are actually two u know.. one on each end of the level... "

spoken like a true mutant, i say (:

and she has the amazing power to piss people off as and when she wishes. Even EFFORTLESS, you know!
i mean, even when a little girl takes your things. you scold her? ok wait. it's perfectly alright to scold. i mean, just look at what i do to my sisters man. but perhaps, she could be a little more... consistent with her standards and don't only chide someone only a few times after that person's done it. that's like slapping your dog only a few times after it shits on your bed, you know!

not only that. the innate power to avoid starving without having to buy her own food. that is pure talent, sheer sheer cunningness, i tell you. and it happens not only once! first the jelly, which deeply traumatized poor mark, but alex's and shawn's food wasn't let off either! with the powers of sheer shamelessness complete with persuasive eyes, trust me, YOU'D BETTER TAKE CARE OF YOUR FOOD!

whoa, her skin is so thick that her powers are just like wolverine's, ONLY BETTER! HAHA! you see, wolverine can even heal bullet wounds! but HAHA ROOMIE IS SOMETHING BETTER! bullets will just BOUNCE OFF!

okay i shall cease to be mean already. heehee (:

<33 milo trip!

OBS!

I AM BACK from OBS!

(yes, i make it a point to grandly announce my return)

currently as i'm typing away, the computer screen and keyboard appears to be bobbing up and down. therefore you shall respect me for typing out this entry which, rest assured, will be long. only the best for my readers :D HEH HEH HEH.

DAY ONE
having barely enough sleep the previous night from excitement, i had to hoist myself from the bed early in the morning. not the point.
anyway. we took a bus from school to punggol jetty and then we took a speedboat to camp one. yes indeed, i got residential ): shut up, i started tearing when i knew that okay.

turned out to be okay. i guess there wasn't THAT much of a difference between mobile and residential.

upon reaching the camp, we were directed to the multi-purpose hall for a briefing. i think all the instructors there are inclined to the LAME side man.

instructor: "GOOD MORNING RGS!"
us: "good morning"
instructor: "NO, you're supposed to say 'the morning is good'"

ZOMG LAH KILL ME. so stupid haha. i mean like imagine if we do that in school. KENA from mrs prama lah lol.

okay anyway after that we met our instructor haha at first i thought he was kinda gay but he's DAMN cute and DAMN nice i CRUSH HIM LUH. haha really lah really. then we surrendered our phones and wallets and started abit of intro. he was damn lame at first lah but as the days went on he turned out to be DAMN nice! :D

we got brought to our dorms which would be our home for 2 days. the dorms were okay, i guess. bigger than the chalet we had for class chalet! hoho. after that, andy brought us to the store to get our lifejackets and disgusting waterbottles! woots our FIRST KAYAK LESSON WAS ABOUT TO START!

firstly we put on our lifejackets on the shore, held hands in one circle and walked into the water together. eileen was squishing my fingers so hard man! hahhaa everyone was panicking like siao and the water was SUPER gross lah. yellow yellow one! haha goodness, i can imagine how many people peed in it already! but anyway we were forced to dip our heads inside the water. yes, the dirty, gross, YELLOW water. EEEEEEEEEEEEW.

after that we learnt how to paddle and how to handle a kayak! then INTO THE WATER WE WENT. to LEARN HOW TO CAPSIZE PROPERLY. if you sitting at the back and capsize, you get hit on the head by a kayak! evilness man i was at the back and i got KONGED on the head by our kayak -.-

after that we paddled out quite far and had to capsize drills and had to learn to rescue and be rescued! and then i was damn suay lah my contact fell out and i had to put it in the bottle between the cap and the stopper. HEH. then me and anthea were super scared that a dead fish would come by floating my us when we were trying to get up from the water with a capsized kayak! and we were both laughing like siao la!

but it was really fun luh, every bit of experience is so valuable to me lah! (: after that we went to the cookhouse for a GOOD dinner. (the mobile people are just jealous HAHA)

bathing was disastrous. the toilet was kinda small and all the water was flowing out of the cubicles like siao, but the feeling of being CLEAN and UNSALTY is just TOO GOOD FOR WORDS!

after that we went to the mph for a talk by the nurse. she had a super whiny voice and was talking all sorts of crap. i was too busy reading the back of shekaye's waddle shirt to notice her. :D
after that went to the cook house to have dessert then we went back to the dorms.

me, she kaye and lynette squeezed in one bed cause i was too lazy to make my bed and she kaye was complaining about the light being too glaring ><

DAY TWO
got woke up at 4 smth by eileen who thought i was cheryl.......................
had to wake up early to go for flag raising and physcial training which was darn lame.
the instructor was trying to get us to do leg exercises like kick butt and knee raise, so she was like "you all like to chase guys right. chase guys must have correct techinique" then she was doing all sorts of random stupid things to get us to do the exercises o.O

then we did the basic exercises which left our palms hurting and body aching and mood? BAD.

after that, we grabbed our lifejackets and went down to the shore for an ACTIVITY. we had to build a raft with pipes, barrels and ropes. dhanabalan vs engsoon!
and dhanabalan's design and engsoon's were EXACTLY the same! 303 SPIRIT SIA! but OBVIOUSLY (haha) engsoon's was steadier luh! andy was PULLING away at the ropes and we were PRO! after the shake test, kick test and buoyancey test, we were READY TO ROLL!
the speedboat took all of our smelly and heavy backpacks to camp 2 first, then engsoon and dhanabalan sat on our rafts and paddled to camp 2! and i am proud to say that we MADE IT!
though we nearly HIT the jetty and had to be pulled away by the speedboat, WE STILL MADE IT NONETHELESS :D

after reaching camp 2, we dismantled our raft and kept it at the obs store at camp 2! saw the mobile people too haha. after that we went to the shelter to put down our grossly heavy backpacks and laze around for a long time (we hadn't had lunch and we were complaining like SIAO). then we realised that andy gave us the wrong info and the food that we rationed for thursday was actually supposed to be brought to camp 2 to be eaten! so we were hungry and whiny and pissed. but we pulled through!

after that, we went to set up the bashars, SO COOL i tell you! pegs here peg there and TADAH you get a BASHAR! it felt good to actually know that we could live in the wild just like THAT!

we proceeded to cook dinner! our dinner was scrumptious! even though we had semi crunchy rice (thanks to CHARMAINE HAHA), curry chicken, mushroom and peanuts i think! haha it was GOOD luh. but we were too hungry so we kinda ate our breakfast too! anyway andy promised us more food for breakfast anyway! :D andy rocks

after that we went to bathe! but when we reached the toilet, it was DARK! so me and anthea went to the other toilet which had light but was super gross! i actually didn't wanna bathe but then i decided to even though the toilet was super gross hoho. and i didnt wanna be alone in the cubicleso i bathe in shorts and underwear HAHA in the common area. it was CRAZY i tell you hoho.

but i still didnt feel clean, so i went back to the mph to POWDER BATH! SHIOK MAN i tell you, prickly heat powder is the best invention ever! haha.

anyway after that, andy told us to go outside the instructor's room to meet. dhanabalan was there with serene too. we were going to have a joint activity! heh.
but the activity was a NIGHTWALK. which meant that we would be brought into the forest and then we have to walk down the same path ALONE. it was the most meaningful activity that was done, in my opinion.

nightwalk was scary at first. we were brought into the forest as a group and i was clinging on to my shuaige (wanlin) cause i was so freaking scared. then we went quite deep into the forest, then serene said that they originally wanted to let us walk alone from there, but there was a change of plans and the walk alone was going to be slightly shorter. i was freaking out by then and i was like, crying and stuff. but chloe shiayen anthea cheryl charmaine and ALOT of people were giving me support so i guess it wasn't that bad luh. and guess what, in the wait to walk, i saw FIREFLIES! not many, just a few sparks of light in the trees, but it was great nonetheless. when it was my turn to walk i just kept freaking out and let chloe go first. but then i realised that i would have to do it anyway, so i went after her. i remember praying very very hard for the strength to complete the walk. well, i guess my prayers were answered cause i came out alone, UNSCATHED.

the walk was freaky. i kept imagining demons and evil stuff and weird animals jumping out of the bushes around me, but obviously, nothing of the sort appeared otherwise i wouldn't have lived to tell the tale coz i would have died of shock there and then.
actually i could hardly see where i was going. the path just appeared to be a white spot in front of me. and sounds of mating cicada were all around. i started to sing to myself but after a while, i decided that i sounded disgusting and i started to listen to my own heavy breathing. i bet my heart was thumping so hard and fast it would just stop had the walk been longer.

i think my faith in God has increased alot. because i never EVER imagined that i would be able to do that if i had not known God and known that He is always with me. and nearing the end of the walk, i just saw light spilling out in front of me. it was really like heaven lah im serious.

i think the walk of Christianity is just like the nightwalk. its not an easy path, there're many rocks and obstacles and uncertainty. but you just have to have faith that you are on the right path and you HAVE to keep to the right path in order to get to the end (heaven). scary, sometimes, it may be, but God is always there and you just have to know that. and after that walk, all you can say is "God is SO awesome"

the talk after the walk was even more meaningful. all the christians of the class just huddled together and cried and praised the Lord together. all of us just confessed that we haven't been keeping to our faith that staunchly and that we feel so guilty. it felt really good cause all along i thought that i was the only one feeling that way. but now i've found a group of friends that feel the same way and have the same faith. i'm just starting to love 303 :D

after that we went to a small hall and gathered as a watch for reflection it was good, seeing and hearing everyone's different experiences of the nightwalk and honestly, it's the first time i heard shekaye say she was scared. hoho.

went back and had cell for a while until serene came and chased us away to sleep. i'm kinda happy that the class is bonding well but i still miss 209 :D

could heardly get to sleep because the floor was so fricking hard and i was COLD and shivering. in the middle of the night i saw charmaine sleeping sitting up. hoho.

DAY THREE
woke up with an aching body. hey im not accustomed to sleeping on rocks, okay?
after washing up, we went to gahter outside the instructor's room. andy made coffee and chrysanthemum tea for us after we had out measley breakfast and really, we were all thinking of the shitload of food back in our dorms.

after that we sat in a circle and andy read us a story about finding ourselves and about what we change into might not be what we really want. about how we grow up into may not let us enjoy the little things in life. just to see our lives zooming past us in a flash, that's sad.

after that we had to learn to belay again, the routine stuff in school.

"am i on belay?"
"no you're not"
-pull pull pull-
squeeze check pull check
"that's me"
instructor check
"ready to climb"

hahaha belay was the usual stuff again but it worked as a refresher.
andy cooked some noodles for us to eat! ANDY ROCKS!
after that, andy went to set up some stuff, he wouldn't tell us what, but then we just sat around talking for a long while until he came back. then he brought us 101 steps up no this giant playground with flying fox and assorted other stuff. i thought we were going to do the flying fox lah i was so happy, turned out that we didn't. but we did something even cooler man!
ABSEILING

we learnt how to abseil down this small kerb first, just to make sure we knew the basics, but actually abseiling itself was a learning experience. you can hardly teach someone to abseil down a wall that she's never seen before, it's pretty much impromptu.

a number of people went down before me, then when i started abseiling, it started to rain, therefore i was the last in the watch to abseil and a few people didn't get to do it. luckily i didn't put off going down like the nightwalk, otherwise i would have lost a learning opportunity.

abseiling was quite fun even though i was FREAKED OUT at the height. i looked down before i started abseiling lah. what a wrong thing to do. and in the middle i wen too far towards the left and bumped into the clay. but i couldnt give up there cause i was right in the middle and i was damn scared to let go. by then the stupid gloves were losing friction and basically i was sliding down the rope and somehow landed on the ground. then we went back up and ran al the way back to the shelter, drenched. sat down for bout an hour in the shelter eating raisins before it was okay to trek back to camp 1.

the trekking was okay cause the distance was really short while the other groups trekked like, 10+ km HAHAHA. i feel so loser lah! but never midn its alright. we got excuse cause it was RAINING haha. i stepped in so many puddles of water my shoes were all gross and muddy lah. it felt so good to wear slippers man i tell you.

when we reached the camp we DUMPED our stupid bags down and went to bathe. it felt good man. the cold water splashing on your skin. couldnt feel better man!

after that we went to the cook house for dinner. the drinks, though bland, were GOOD cause they were COLD and the dinner was GOOD lah. no wonder i didn't lose weight! :D but never mind, i gain muscles :D

after that went to the hall for sea expedition talk. stupid kennth kept shutting us up with that stupid zipping action and threatened to throw his stupid stinky sandal at anthea cause she was laughing. ya cause we were both laughing at anthea's farts HAHAHA ooops. and we were laughing at his chicken drumstick legs and takopachi octopus mouth HAHA!

then after that we had dessert at the cookhouse, went back, packed our stuff for the expedition and went to bed.

i managed to squash 4 loaves of bread into the bin and i fold a squash piece of bread into the shape of a fan while everyone was laughing their asses off at me. WHAT! no tv, that's the next best entertainment WHAT?!

DAY FOUR
woke up in the morning, couldnt help but kept on yawning, felt so lethargic, what was i gonna do?

DID PT EARLY IN THE MORNING AND PLAY WEIRD FUNNY AND STUPID GAMES WHICH WAS TOTALLY LAME TO MAKE US WAKE UP SO EARLY TO DO IT BUT heck it was quite fun LOL.

after that we went back to dorms and brought our blue bins down to load onto the speedboats then we shifted all the kayaks onto the shore and got ready to go. after a long time, cause the kayaks were so freaking heavy, we were all in the sea and ready to roll!

we had to keep to our diamond shape formation all the time, which got abit irritating because kayaks are not easy to control! but we did fine i think, even the instructors said so!

me and anthea were just rowing till the cows come home then we were like motivating people by going "jiayou jiayou jiayou jiayou jiayou" to the speed of our rowing and we rowed from the back to the front of the diamond lah! are we pro or are we pro!!

after rowing for what seemed liek forever, we were finally reaching the frog island where we would eat lunch. we needed the toilet so badly so we started chanting "toilet toilet toilet toilet toilet.." instead and we were pissing people off lah aha but who cares!

we made it to the island at 12.10, which was record time since we left ubin one hour off schedule and reached there 50 mins ahead of schedule! pro shit, we are. me anthea and isa quickly went into the sea and peed together. whoa i tell you, peeing never felt so damn freaking good before.

ate one red bean bun and munched on nuts for lunch. wasn't quite enough, but i dealt with it. after lunch, we carried on rowing and rowing and rowing crossing the channels and stuff. kenneth kept stopping us to tell us what to do when crossing the channel and stuff but overall he said we were good! haha :D

we got sian of rowing after a while, so we started singing! alot of stupid songs summore! like WE ARE ONE SINGAPOREEE ONE NATION STRONG AND FREEEE and WHERE I BELONGGG WHERE I KEEP MY HEART AND SOUL, WHERE DREAMS COME TRUE FOR USS! and alot of singapore songs and christian songs. it was really enjoyable and made rowing didnt feel so bad after all. though anthea puked like, 9 times and i saw a dead fish we were all HYPER!

before we knew it, we were reaching! then me and anthea started singing edelwiess! which was super spastic lah. complete with knocking summore. we were liek banging our paddles on the kayak for effect HAHA!

"edelwiesssssssssssssssssssssssss -knockknock" HAHA

when we reached, we had to drag all the kayaks onto the grass and lay it properly. then we pitched our bashars. when someone unfolded the stuff a frog jumped out and i SCREEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMEDDDDDDDDDDDDDD liek siao lah. amphibians reptiles and insect and creepy yucky stuff PUT ME OFF

then we went to the toilet with our stuff. the first one was super crowded so we walked up the hill and turned and turned and turned until we found another one. and then we realised that it would have been much shorter had we walked straight. we rinsed ourselves with water and put powder all over. though i didnt cause it was kinda late hahaha.

after bathing we went back to camp and cooked dinner. ok no lah i slacked around and waited for people to cook for me HAHAH im SUCHA slacker i should change! :D
had instant noodles, curry, beans, peanuts and mushrooms for dinner it was GOOD!

after that me cheryl charm and anthea sat on the sand and boiled chrysanthemum tea and ate coffee powder and chrysanthemum tea powder then it started raining o.O

then we carried the mess tin back to the bashar and left the stove burning on the beach for the rain to extinguish HAHA we're such losers lah.

then we went to the toilet and when we were walking back we saw someone digging around in teh dustbin. i thought it was some lunatic or poor man looking around for food to eat lah, turned out it was kenneth digging out the dustbin cause we weren't supposed to throw ANYTHING into the dustbins. we even had to dig out the sanitary pads from the bins where we threw them. luckily i didn't throw anything at all lah. HENG. the park people are so unreasonable. one tissue only what big deal haha.

then we stood around complaining for a while and started laughing about chihuahua legs a certian someone has and how he uses veet to shave hAHAHA.

ok not funny.

after that we met andy for a talk felt so much better after that. and then we went back to sleep. actually was supposed to stay up for duty but i was so tired i didn't volunteer and i looked like a ghost already with super gross eyerings so i went to sleep. cheryl was talking about what i said in the afternoon to anthea and the frigging bullfrogs kept mooing.

all through the night i was complaining about how the freaking bullfrogs were making so much noise then we started talking about if bullfrogs have udeers and the different tones of the frogs were cause they were pulling different udders.
sheesh the first time i heard a bullfrog i though it was indian workers having sex or smthing. ooops?

DAY FIVE
then in the morning got woken up at 5.30 cause andy wouldnt let us wake up anytime earlier than that even though we were supposed to wake up at 4 to pack. andy rocks

after all the hooha, we set off on our journey back to ubin, this time using a shorter route and we made it back in good time EVERYONE was so super happy lah. then we did a raffles cheer to celebrate the completion of the expedition! :D

ran back to dorm after that to bathe and make it to the cookhouse to eat lunch! after that we went shopping at the obs gift shop then went to the hall for a debrief. we sat around in a circle with andy and reflected on the last five days. i couldnt help but cry lah. im such an emotional person HAHA :D but yeah seriously i miss camp alot. and I MISS ANDY CAUSE HE'S SO SUPER NICE LAH!
he read us this meaningful poem and a short prose which was really touching though i cant remember all of it.
all of engsoon started crying after the refecltions and i realised that each and every person was nice in their own way. and i really felt bad about being so evil to eileen and joy. andy started crying too but he went away so we wouldnt see him

we had a final briefing and the instructor read us this meaningful thingy that mother theresa said

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is a beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realise it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is costly, care for it.
Life is wealth, keep it.
Life is love, enjoy it.
Life is mystery, know it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it!

i think its so true and while looking for this quote i found many other meaningful stuff that mother teresa said. i think she's really admirable and it's worth a read.

yeah after the briefing we gave andy a group hug like twice and then it was time to go

all of us were crying and crying and crying cause we really missed andy. i thinkhe's the best in the whole world even though gandhi refuses to admit it.

we set off on the boat back home and everyone was crying then we were laughing about the beans that make you fart and the extra power it would give the boat. and then we were laughing and crying at the same time..

soon we reached punggol. i think it was a really long time since we were last there. or it felt like it. i mean, so many things happened in that five days.

then we went back to school and i chionged to get a can opf grass jelly. HEAVENLY, i tell you. i sat around with eileen and weiting and we lamented about how our classes were bonded and how afraid we were that 209 would drift apart. i think its abit inevitable. but i still love 209 ALOT :D

after that i went back home, it totally felt good man. collllddddddd drinkssssss. had the first good bath in days and chatted for a while on msn and started blogging. now as this blog entry is coming to an end, it is 4.52pm on saturday. i shall conclude the stuff i've learnt through obs.

1. have faith in yourself and the instructor and people around you. that can never go wrong.
2. have faith in God.
3. milo powder tastes damn good
4. coffee powder and chrysanthemum tea powder taste okay too
5. beans make you fart. (cause we like, ganged up against him HAHA) and well, there was always a funny moment in class.

109 was truly a learning experience. i still vividly remeber jmf's stinky softball glove and the aircon that never worked. and wanxin always using her racquet to knock it. hoho. the memories just flow.

sigh. its just so fast.

209 was a different thing altogether. we emerged stronger from our struggles last year and came together. even at the start of the year, we weren't that bonded. conflicts aplenty. but as time passed, so many things have happened. good and bad. detention took on a new purpose.
choo and chee and stuff. heehee. just. so many things happened i don't even know where to start. and words hardly come close to describing 209. we're just too good for words, baby

i shall write smth for everyone in 209! (:

okay anyway i shall proceeed to blog about the malaysian trip which was tons of fun! okay, excluding the project, which involved alot of staying up on the part of the group leaders. good job krystal! even though we didn't get to present! (:

day 1

woke up early to go to school to take the bus. the leaving part was like really hard lah, emotional attachment MAH. suddenly i feel like an orang asli. HOHO.

okay anyway sat with eileen, which ultimately meant that produced alot of noise and crap (:

we wedged a packet of sour prunes between the chairs and ate and ate and ate. well it was fun lah. the second link has alot of weird weird stuff. loads and loads and LOADS of trees, occasionally a few cows walking here and there (on the expressway i think HEH)

well the journey was tiring but kinda fun lah. its seldom that you have absolutely NOTHING to do such that you are forced to sleep. wonderful, wonderful.

after many toilet breaks, we finally had uh.

LUNCH!

lunch was not THAT bad except that the place was disgustingly filthy. i shall explain.

so we went into the toilet to relieve ourselves. answer nature's call, i'd call it.
the toilet was a reasonable size but its was gross you could smell the toilet from like, way outside and the best, there was a COCKROACH the size of my thumb at the door. naturally, being squealy girls that we are, we were yelling screaming and running out of the toilet. some even chose not to go into the toilet at the ahem, expense of our well-being.

help came in the form of MR JALLEH!

with a broom in hand, the valient teacher attacked the creature with zest. of course he wouldn't let such a very disgusting creature take a toll on his innocent students! the cockroach got rightfully what it deserved!

okay enough of the exciting experience in the toilet. how nice of the cockroach to welcome us to malaysia, with a literal BANG! of course.

the food wasn't too bad but i naturally was complaining like a spoilt brat, for i am a city person, not used to the likes of rodents in such locations. and the table cloth had holes in it okay!

ok never mind we had shark's fin! or at least, tasted and looked like it. aren't you JEALOUS?
then we had fish, MORE FISH pork veggies, and you know, the usual stuff you get at restaurants. not a bad deal i say we paid $100 for 5 days! food and lodgings included (: 4 star and 5 star hotels leh! don't pray pray! :D

after lunch we went to PUTRAJAYA!

putrajaya is this damn cool place with loads and loads and loads of buildings for ministries and stuff. its really cool and i dare say its the cleanest part of malaysia so to speak. the mosque is like really grand and big lah. and its just really nice and modern man. the traffic lights are like so cool. you know the pedestrain traffic lights in singapore? theirs are way cool man i tell you. it's like the green light is a green man walking. then when you're supposed to walk faster, the gren man walks faster too. so CUTE i tell you.

oh then me and eileen went shopping around for stuff. bought a keychain for ourselves and weiting! SEE? even when we go malaysia also think of weiting ah huh. weiting are you touched are you touched! :D but all in all we had alot of fun and the tour guide was funky man. loads of lame jokes. hoho

oh then uh our visit to a local school was cancelled cause we spent so much time touring putrajaya so we went to have a damn good dinner at some restaurant called sabye sabye or something. had thai food for dinner which was oh, so good! (:

ohoh! i bought a tiger and named it BUBU! and eileen's was a cow which is called BABA! and latha's i-dunno-what is called BIBI.

BIBIBABABUBU! (:

then we went to check in to the hotel which was homely i guess, but you could smell smoke EVERYWHERE. which was yes, gross =\ me eileen dharshini shared one rooma and we were going crazy all night. and believe it or not NONE OF US brough poker cards and we were planning to draw them out HAHAH (: that's niners for you. but we didn't in the end. THAT'S NINERS FOR YOU TOO. hahah all say no do. :P whoops.

ohoh for all the four nights me and eileen bathed together. no it's not what you think. neither of us saw what we shouldn't have because our synchronisation was PRO ok. especially at the end of the trip. woohoo! (:

the hotel beds were sleep-able which was good (: and hahaha boy was it fun. eileen was BANISHED to the makeshift bed XD

day 2

early in the morning we went to the singapore high commision to go for a lecture which was so boring i was busy finding comfortable positions to fall asleep on the chair. YAY. while half-freezing to death of course.

and the speakers were obviously boring us half to death and apprently none of the information was important as we had already been once briefed by the teachers on the matter. and and we play cheat one! my mizar told somebody to ask questions and he told her the questions to ask ok! that is like SOO play cheat! :P but never mind it's okay. we are still smart. and people still THINK we are smart.

after that we had lunch at a seafood restaurant i think. if i didn't rememeber wrongly. and we found a twig in the water which obviously says something about the hygiene of restaurants in malaysia but then again. food that is too clean doesn't taste good. but i was touchy about the twig anyway.

we had GOOD FOOD! squid, fish, veggie and assorted seafood and of course, we had CRAB! (: chilli crab some more you know! so we had to use a hammer (yes i know it's called a mallet i just want to call it a hammer so go away) to hit the crab shell to get to the meat :D HEEHEE. darn fun okay! (:

especially the part where a whole series of misunderstanding leads to us thinking that a boy was a dog and that maria was especially attractive that an old man wanted to look at her all by himself that he sent his grandson into the house :D HEEHEE

after that we went to the oil palm plantation / factory to see how the oil palm fruits were processed and stuff and the horrid smell was UGH i tell you. hahaha. but it was cool lah. all the machinery and stuff. and the oil palm fruits were like raised to a height and dropped down. don't ask me why ok they just did. and the oil palm fruits looked like porcupines

the padi field and the factory was cool. ok actually we only went to the factory lah. was fun. never seen so much rice in my life man. heaps and heaps of rice. then they polish it and de shell it and stuff there. way cool. never seen such stuff in my life. after all singapore is so small and all we have are football fields o.O but it was fun lah. worth $100

then we went to some farmer's house. didn't know farmers could be so rich and omg they have like, WASHING MACHINES there. cool right! and i thought they still used washing boards lah! -whacks head- im suaku okay! so sue me :P

dinner was the same again. same stuff. rice and dishes. nothing really special lah. then we went back to the hotel and did what we needed to do lah. fell asleep watching the ultimate blonde or something like that. hahaha. malaysia's tv programmes are like SO boring. first night we watched phantom of the opera which was okay except that gerald butler is SO not cute. unlike what nelicia says. speaking of butler, the tour guide, mr ashok, says that last time people's surnames were after the occupations there had, that's why schumacher is schumacher (shoemaker). kinda makes me wonder the ancestry of gerald butler and erm the carpenters. HEH.

day 3

in the morning we woke up and checked out of the hotel. breakfast was the same again. buffet, but it was quite good, just like on tuesday.

forest research institute of malaysia

after we checked out, we went to FRIM to trudge through the forest. quite fun actually if not for the countless mosquito bites that i got.

the guide was super lame lah i tell you. we always get lame guides.

firstly we went to see some huge fish which was REALLY huge. kinda gross actually. then we went in the forest to like look at the plants and everything. the normal i suppose. just like bukit timah hill, except, worse. they didn't even have footpaths for you okay! aiyoo.

okay i will stop whining like a guniang now.

but it was fun. i can't say i escaped unscathed. i had 9 mosquito bites on me when i left okay. bit YUCk really. well at least i didn't get bitten by a leech, which a number of other people did. thank goodness not me.

i hereby proclaim that leeches are the grossest things on earth. their heads are bigger than their body at first. then they plant themselves on you and suck your bloody until their heads are smaller than their body. which kinda means they sucked alot of blood. which is GROSS. and no matter how much you step on them, they don't die. WHICH IS YUCKY YOU CAN'T EVEN KILL THEM BY SQUISHING THEM. EWWW

blah but the museum was quite uh. nice i guess. airconed and all and the exhibits were uh. kinda cool lah. everything made of wood. (:

had lunch, then went to the orang asli centre. mr mizar looks like an orang asli okay. striking resemblance, i say. and the orang aslis are really quite ingenius they can make clothes out of soaking tre bark and stuff like that. way cool. but they are uh, quite short haha. and the orang asli in various tribes have the same facial features. isn't that COOL. that's so, oompa loompa!
and i uh bought a hair thingy from the centre. no, not to put in my hair lah, for souvenirs!
2 rm only! cheap cheap!

after that we travelled all the way out of the moutaineous areas to OMG MODERNISATION and we went to eat! food was normal again, but good. (:

after that we went to KLCC to shop! me and eileen were like screaming and screaming when we saw stuff and we really dashed through the whole of the shopping centre, squealing as we ran.
bought a converse t-shirt there. felt damn good haha. shopping is like, therapeutic (:

then we checked in to another hotel! 5 star one ok!

the whole room was like GREEN! GREEN floormat, GREEN bedsheets, GREEN walls, GREEN towels, GREEN everything. which was kinda cool except that the shade of green wasn't the best. but i'm not complaining. the tv was better there, had a much bigger bed and we had a comjoined room with divya and some other people HEH.

had a briefing which wasn't exactly short and then came back to the room. then i realised my converse bagwas MISSING! thanks to eileen who was holding it. so i was like whining and whining and stuff. then eileen went to find it. then she didn't come back! and then me and dharshini were like frantic so we went to go look for her. and then i decided that i thought she was in the conjoined room! indeed she was there and she tried to hide some more okay!
but she stayed up to listen for news of my converse bag. BUT NONE CAME. xin ku ni le eileen!

day 4

still no news of my converse bag ): HOW SAD right.

but whatever.

in the morning we went to proton assembly plant to see how cars were made. had this like super boring show then we went to the factory to see. it was kinda cool lah. the warning sounds were damn funky. music. but VERY irritating.

and the smells were gross. they gave me a headache. nothing much anyway. i am hardly interested in cars.

went window shopping at the car place. me and eileen bascially stood in the shop laughing at the gay designs on the ties while ms foo stared at us completely bemused.

had lunch after that again.

went to istana budaya after that. kinda coo lah. but its so copycat esplanade lor.

but anyway after that went to ONE UTAMA. had a talk by mr jalleh's brother. carbon copy of him man. complexion the same, laugh the same talk the same walk the same. omg. no one would doubt they are brothers. but his brother looked way better than him.

went shopping! me and eileen were charging through the shopping centres. obviously a big contrast to the malaysians whom walked and talked damn slowly as if the world is not going to end.

bought a pair of slippers for 39 ringgit, 2 shirts 9.90 ringgit each which actually have horrid cutting but who cares they're cheap lah then bought barbie vcds for my sisters and got teased all the way back to singapore (NO JOKE) and eileen bought a billabong wallet.

then we went back to the hotel. then the fun began man.

me dharshini arathi latha maria eileen were spying on mr jalleh. we crept outside his door and laughed at him laughing. amusing really. we did that for such a very long time and was damn cool.

then we decided to have a plan. we decided to go to the conjoining room to spy on them. much easier (: but we called the ocnjoining room and no one picked up. so we wanted to make alot alot of noise so they would come out and scold us. then we could meditate.

then maria could go "i sense a presence"
the a random person would go "eye-opener, please open your eyes"
then latha would open her eyes suddenly and freak them out.

but that wouldnt work. so we wanted to ask mizar to come out in the wee hours of a morning so dharshini could innocently go "mr mizar you owe me a donut. im hungry mr mizar"

but we backed out in the end in fear that the shopping trip would get cancelled. but it got cancelled anyway thanks to the teachers. annoying losers.

then we played bridge and daidee alternatatingly. after that maria went to sleep and we decided to go back to our room.

so we crapped around with krystal lydia and margeret for a while and then we decided to go back and sleep. alas! someone latched our door from the inside and went out through the conjoined room thus we were stuck outside our room. with all three keys.

then suddenly we counted our keys and saw that :O we had 4 keys instead of 3! so we went back to arathi's room to see if we had taken their key by accident. YES we did and we were let into their room. so we slept on the makeshift bed and propped our legs on their beds. then we proceeded to laugh ourselves to death. (:

day 5.

presented the group work and frantically rushed to pack our things.

got on the bus after that and GUESS WHO FOUND MY CONVERSE BAG! MR MIZAR. AND HE TOOK SO LONG TO TELL LAH WTH ROAR ROAR ROAR!

anyway after that we watched the exorcism of emily rose and the legend of zorro on the bus all the way back to singapore. lost my dvd while trying to hide it from the customs people so ohwell, never mind.

and that concludes my 5 days spent in malaysia. loads of things that i left out of course. really fun.

i think i have nothing else to write about. i'll be riding a deer to malaysia next time (: (inside joke)

209 class chalet! <3

ok! the obligatory post about class chalet is finally here :D

yes, yes, i do realise that this post is one week late. shut up will ya (:

pre-chalet activities

mummy brought me to go get a new phone! :D ok i love my mummy(: but that's wayyyy out of point, so never mind.
um yeah okay. met the niners at tanah merah mrt station at 1.45 even though, obviously, some people were late :D
wanxin, as usual, did her taitai walk to and fro. man that girl was MADE to be a taitai. and yeha. did i mention she took a cab there instead of the shuttle bus? tsk
me sanqian weiting eileen sat on the steps while talking and waiting for the bus :D heh. BONDING TIME :D

class chalet day 1

after a long wait at the reception of NSRCC , we finally had the key to enter the chalet. i will skip takking about the prank because it was SO unorthodox. XP

yes. after a long wait, naturally the expectations of the chalet increased with suspense. boy were we in for a surprise. once i stepped into the chalet, i was welcomed by a foul smell possibly of old people, or dogs, perhaps? okay i'll settle for an old person's dog. boy, what a stench it was. words cannot begin to describe what it smelt like. i guess things like that have to be experienced. oh, but trust me. it'd be an experience you'd wanna forget :D i hardly believed i was supposed to enjoy my 3 day 2 night stay in that dingy house.
let me give you a brief desription of the house. due to lack of pictures. you will have to work your imagination based on my duely exaggerated description of it.

the first floor of the chalet had a living room which was approximately half the size of a classroom. not bad, or so i thought till we wanted to watch DVDs and realised that the management were probably made up of ancient mummies who believed solely in vcd players. and to top it all off? the tv was FUZZY. and the promised cable vision? utter nonsense. all we got was MTV, discovery channel and some sports channels. so we sat down and spent the rest of the day watching 2 lesbians wrestle. enchanting.

the dining room was fine. i had no complaints accept for the fact that it was too small. oh yes by the way, the chalet was only supposed to have 8 occupants. HENCE the puny size. but that's a stupid rule anyway. see. that proves my point that the management is made up on mummies. you cant have too many people in one tomb, you see. ok that was SO LAME. i think it's influence from yityng. oh, dear me.

the kitchen. if i didnt remember wrongly, the kitchen had no stoves? maybe it did, but we weren't allowed to use it anw. there was this sign that said COOKING NOT ALLOWED IN KITCHEN. please tell me you're thinking what im thinking. if you can't cook in a kitchen, what the crap do you do in it? i know i know pick me! cause the bedrooms are SO, BLOODY small. we can SLEEP IN THE KITCHEN. ingenious management huh. so thoughtful of them. oh, i have sorely wronged them. i apologise for my pervicacious-ness.

NOT.

i'd call that room a pantry.

oh this is abit insignificant but there was a toilet downstairs too. while i'm at it. upstairs also have.oh to balance out the negativity in this entry, i'll compliment the toilet. yes. it was big enough. WOW. okay im done.

the upstairs had two bedrooms. each had a maximum capacity of 11 people. that includes the floor. yup. ohoh. the aircons were working properly! good job!

enough of description. on with the STARS of this entry, 209. yes as i mentioned. half of the class stayed in the house watching wrestling, due to the lack of more captivating television programmes and also due to the lack of higher techonology (AHEM, DVD PLAYER?). well at least it was hilarious the way we made fun of things. :D

anyway here comes the highlight of the day

at night we barbecued. that was super fun! i helped in getting the fire started :D eh, don't play play i was a BROWNIE ok. yeah yeah whatever. yes and we used up almost one whole box of fire starters just to get a pathetic fire going. never mind, for a first time, not bad! :D

and so we fanned, and fanned, and fanned even more . we even danced around the barbecue pit fanning the fire whiel singing tuo diao. that warrented a "QIU GUI AH" from the occupants of the neighbouring chalet. goodness knows what that means but got "GUI" inside la. so can roughly guess the meaning :Dafter a while, yes we decided that that could not go on and we used...

AN ELECTRIC FAN. named toyomi. we, the niners are modernized ok. DONT play play ah!

after countless uncooked chicken wings, burnt fishballs and i-can't-remember-what. almost all of the class was FULL! :D we deserve applause :D

after that was operation clean-up which involved 2 people - andrea and rachel phoa. because THEY WOULDNT LET US HELP. not our fault anyway good lah, then no need to do anything. HEH

i waited for over an hour for my turn to bathe. so me and peiqi were guffawing away at the noice weiting and eileen made when they were in the bathroom. OH YEAH. i made up a knock knock joke!

*knock knock*

"who's there?""weiting!"

"weiting who?"

"weiting for you to come out of the bathroom!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

funny what!

ok never mind. no sense of humour

midnight game<s>s</s>

<s></s>

<s></s>the midnight game was predictably the most cliched game in the whole of chalet history. TRUTH OR DARE. in which the questions were weird and the dares are sought after. GO FIGURE. that's 209 for you.

after that they sat down to tell ghost stories, which me, weiting and eillen absolutely refused to listen and ran up deliriously. yes. it was that bad

we had a hard time sleeping. 6 of us were squished on to a paltry bed. of which half of it was occupied by xiaodi and hongye. yeah.i could hardly move the whole night, for if i turned to the right, i'd find myself nose-to-nose- with weiting and if i turned left, i'd probably be inhaling air around eileen's underarm. so, face-up, i was sleeping. wise choice, don't you think?

however sleeping in that confined position wasn't exactly the most comfortable thing to do. so me and sandra, who was on the brink (literally!) of falling off the bed went downstairs in pursuit of a place to sleep. never found one. we ended up eating oreos and woke samantha up, who was asleep on the dining table. so we went out for a walk. at 3 am in the morning. not bad.

the place was not quiet, even though it was in the wee hours of the morning. occasional sounds of the passing planes and the screeching of the rats all around created a cacophony of weird and horrible noises. sounds that really shouldn't be heard, especially at dawn.

there was no where to go. so we went back to the chalet and ate some more before giving it our last attempt to sleep. because sandra so considerately decided to sleep downstairs, i had more space on the bed and managed to catch some winks. xin1 ku2 ni3 le4, sandra.

class chalet day 2

all plans of watching the sunrise had been aborted due to the immense fatigue we were all suffering from. no wait actually we DID have plans to watch the sunrise. but everyone dilly-dallied until the sun rose already. so we went for a morning walk instead. so we climbed over the gate to get the the pavement (yes they had a gate, but those mummies kept it locked. why? ASK ME ASK ME I KNOW -.-) and we lazily strolled along the path and then walked back to the chalet and had a breakfast of cup noodles then sat down to watch a documentary about mummies.

the others went out to cycle while me the anti-social loner stayed in the chalet watching stupid documentaries and eating. hey. i WANTED to cycle but they didn't have a bike meduim-sized enough for me AND i forgot how to cycle. HOW CAN YOU FOGET HOW TO CYCLE dammit. i tryied, and i crashed into 2 kerbs and narrowly missed hititng a car. YES not the car hitting me, ME HITTING THE CAR.dang, so me and rachel ong went to pick shells on the beach. we picked SOOOO many but we didnt keep them. or at least, i didn't. then i came back and washed the shells. but there was SO MANYY, i gave up and took a nap on the sofa. when i woke up, it was time for lunch. HOHO.

and also, the class was in a chaotic mess.

the bicycles, that were possibly malfunctioning and had a disgusting design gave many niners abrasions on their butt (tailbone area). and when they went to complain to the receptionist, she was shifting the blame to the contractor who chose the bikes and blahblahblah. when they told me, i was fuming, even though it didn't involve me. imagine what they must be going through. i accept that there was perpetually nothing that the receptionist could do about it. but apologising will NOT kill. sheesh. will the world EVER run out of idiots. oh oh.YES the manager said exactly the same thing as the receptionist. that's what pissed people off anyway.

anyway. some niners went to bowl after that and some stayed in the chalet. we had plans for karaoke. but then the exhorbitant prices rendered us not choice but to rot away in the chalet. so. sad.

but dinner was good. i had 2 slices of pizza! which actually isn't alot but some people had one. wow. wonder how they survive. omg do i suddenly sound like a martian.

well we played daidee the whole night and talked about stuff and laughed at each other's stupid daidee mistakes. :D i love niners SO much :D

and at least that day, i slept. yeah. basically cause my daddy came to give me my sleeping bag and i wasn't freezing my ass off at night and that we were sleeping in a strategic position which allowed us alot of space (: ok fine i was lying, there were fewer people on the bed :D

class chalet day 3

basically, once we woke up, it was time to pack and go off because apparently the management mummies (hey! it alliterates!) wanted us to check out at 9 instead on the usual 12 (wonder WHY)

and we waited around until the people came to inspect the place. well when we left it was filthier than when we arrived. MUCH filthier. which actually says alot about the place.

it dawned upon me that the last niner outing was going to end. and that 209`05 was going to be just a memory. and it had to end on such a sad note. but HOHO were we wrong.

so we checked out. and walked to the bus stop to wait for the shuttle bus. i want to emphasize that we were one of the first people there and we definitely would have gotten on the bus. but then MORE people came. that included the sec 4 band members and some other school's people.

okay the way i phrased it, you probably can guess what was going to happen.
we came first and waited patiently for 45min while the others arrived a MERE 10 min before the arrival of the bus. and guess what. when the bus came, they so ceremoniously walked ahead of us and secured a seat on the bus. while we graciously let them board the bus first, we were left with NO SPACE. HEY WE WERE THERE FIRST. AND we were waiting at the RIGHT SPOT. the BUS STOP.

feeling injustly treated and agitated, some niners marched up the bus and told the bus driver that WE THE NINERS OF RGS, SINGAPORE rightly deserve a seat on the bus. or at lesat get to stand pls? but did the fool listen? NUUUUUUUUUUUU. and don't give me nonsense about how the bus driver "bo pian what? not like he can do anything" BULLSHIT. he could have asked the others who didn't arrive as early as we did to GET OFF. and wait one hour for another bus. it may seem unfair to them, well they DID get a seat on the bus. but HOW ABOUT US! we waited for nearly one hour, and now we're supposed to wait for ANOTHER HOUR? preposterous, i say!

once again i'll have to say, WILL THE WORLD EVER RUN OUT OF IDIOTS.

but time is money. and money is well, money. and money is IMPORTANT, YOU KNOW!therefore TIME WAS IMPORTANT and we couldn't afford to waste anymore time (heh we booked kbox what) so we took went out to join rachel and andrea in their wait for their called taxi. but the txi driver happened to be a shrew and refused to wait for us to decide who would take which taxi. so in the end. we had to call another cab and valiantly hope that the taxi driver would be nice enough to let all 5 of us squeeze in.

FORTUNATELY, he was. and we gave him 60cents tips for that :D eh, at least have tips ok. so me, eileen, weiting, isa, and chelz went to kbox, thinking that we got a good dealoff kbox. $8 for lunch and 3 hours. well it did seem good. but their lunch. omfgf (see zeslene, didnt copy you. i got FAIRY GOD FATHER :D)it came in a STYROFOAM plate with PLASTIC cutlery. and the chicken rice? 87%rice 13% chicken. well the chicken was de boned, at the very least. but i bit STRAIGHT into the muscle okay! and the ice lemon tea. omg. i think they wanted to make it gassy so they added ice cream soda, so it turned out a DISASTER. wasn't even gassy in the end. POOO.

but overall, these 3 days were well spent. though it may not have been as eventful as other classes' chalet, it was a spiritual ride for all the 209-ers`05 i believe.

though we will probably never have the chance of sititng all together in a classroom anymore, you will always be in my memory :D and i wanna thank all niners for giving me the time of my life and making my life in rgs not quite as horrible as if would have been without you guys (lol confusing) yeah.

NINERS I LOVE YOU <3333333333333
